This week's blog is going to be a VLOG of a little hike I took a couple weeks ago at Carolina Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge. I've been trying to hike some of their trials this spring, it's such a big place all spread out so normally I drive through and due to that I miss out on the up close and personal experience. So I hope you see something you enjoy. You won't be able to watch it on You Tube until later this is a Premier...lol
PEACE
Every day is a new Adventure.
I wish I could have lunch in a place like that. That was a fantastic video. The Orchard Oriole is so beatiful, I have never seen one before. I know I say this every time but you have the most fantastic birds there. The nest had to be quite a surprise I know it was for me. Thanks for sharing
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, thanks for your encouragement. I am lucky to have so many beautiful birds in my area!!
DeleteThe nest of the Eastern Phoebe reminded me of a pair that placed their nest right on top of my porch light. If I am totally truthful, Sondra, I found the video to be very herky-jerky, lots of background noise, and the narration was at times difficult to hear. Sorry to say that but I assume that you will appreciate an honest reaction.
ReplyDeleteHi David, not trying to be Attenborough, just an old gal with a desire to get out there and explore. Life is about the quality of the experience not the quality of the gear you are using.
DeleteHello, what a great spot and blind for birding. I like the views and the Phoebe nest. The Mocker is a noisy bird. Cute Anole and I love the lineup of turtles. The Orchard Oriole is beautiful. I enjoyed your photos and video. Happy Birding, enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen! When I first saw the nest I thought it was an old one from last yr. That's why I was so surprised at the eggs.
DeleteWow, that's bold of the phoebe to nest inside the photo blind! Lovely flowers and jealous of your oriole.
ReplyDeleteHI Jen, thank you. The Oriole makes some really strange calls they have me scratching my head a lot when they arrive!
DeleteI loved this Sondra! Can’t believe that nest, loved watching the downy (?) climb that tree, the Oriole is wonderful. I’m sure I missed some wonders, because I watched on mute... the joys of a small house where “somebody” is napping (“resting his eyes”) in the chair next to me. And where I’m too lazy to walk my iPad into the other room ))).
ReplyDeleteHI Sallie, thanks for visit and the comment....it was a fun hike and cool discovery of the eggs!
DeleteIt was lovely to see a film of your walk, such a beautiful place and so nice to have such a place to yourself. I would love to eat lunch by the water - something i'm going to do as soon as we're allowed out properly again!
ReplyDeleteAn interesting video Sondra, the Oriole is an attractive bird. There is something calming about water.
