Everything is Grand in Michigan!

First off I must apologize I have not had the time to make a blog and visit blogs so my next chance at internet I promise to visit your blogs. I need to try and catch up as time has really gotten away.  MY visit with Uncle Frank was short but I was to see him again as they invited me to come crash a Party they have each year up in St Ignace Michigan,

I just happen to be going that direction! I had made one reservation in Grand Haven Beach!  CROWDED its like slots on a parking lot..but I fit right in!

Parking lot? Nope the campground.

....the beach was full of lots of people doing all kinds of things I loved this kite!

OF course I forgot Labor Day was closing in on me, so the crowds began to get thick and it got cold!! So Casey had to get his coat on and so did I.

there is this catwalk out to the Lighthouse...they are in the process of revamping and saving this light house...they are removing the metal catwalk that was used to reach the LH when the waves come over the concrete barrier

the cat walk

It's barn red! Really looks great against a blue sky..

A Caspian Tern

here you can see how the catwalk is being removed

here is the barge in the Grand River working on the restoration of the LH.

We had a lovely walk around

The sun went down and it got cold!!

My next stop is Tahquamenon Falls State Park near Paradise MI

  3. Love the lighthouse and the echoing pop of red on the tern's beak -- what a great place. (Bill would be watching how the workers were saving the lighthouse while I bird watched -- we'd both be ecstatic.) Visit when you can, even if its after you get back home -- and don't worry, I'd definitely rather read about where you are in your travels than have you waste your limited internet time commenting on mine.

  4. Ooh that lighthouse catwalk looks very cool (as does Casey in his coat). Love the kite too. Don't worry about visiting my blog as I retired last week! I'll keep on doing flickr but I've run out of steam on the blog front.
