Annie Get Your Gun!

I've worked hard lately I actually was able to get that last cast iron pipe OUT SO no more cast iron drain lines! I didnt bother with photos this time...you seen one drain lines you've seen them all..But this was a major WIN for me! Whew so I earned a day off!
I thought I'd share with y'all maybe some simpler things you never thought of...and maybe you'll think "what is she thinking" after you read these but here goes...

I love nature, wildlife, birds, and critters but Squirrels have gone to the very bottom of my list right above chiggers--because they destroy so many of my plants!!!  I don't mind that they steal bird seed, but when they completely de-limb the tomato plants that I had in pots on my deck and they now climb onto the roof where I'm afraid they will start ripping shingles off just for the sheer delight of being destructive, I have to draw the line..
Long time readers know I have in the past trapped and relocated manyyyy squirrels so many I lost count..Now my anger boils over I need immediate satisfaction so I bought a GUN!!

HERE IT IS
Its a 6 shooter and I bought lots of ammo... enough to probably put me on some CIA list.  Now this baby makes a pretty loud noise and it has this smell of Gunpowder, I keep it right on the table, I can grab it and sprint out the door even on bare feet... and BANG--scare the bejeezesss out of the unsuspecting varmit before he even knows I'm there !!
They run so fast they look like 5 squirrels darting in thrice directions at once and when safely up a tree they look back as if to say "Geeze lady you had me scared to death there for a minute, but how long do you think I'll fall for that?"

I had to resort to this cause I can't throw! I keep a jar of rocks by the door, but after my arm debacle I throw worse than any girl I know its always a lob kinda thing my hand just doesn't know when to release the rock..sometimes it goes straight up and nearly plunks ME in the head on the landing!! Holy Terror...so I had to arm myself with an appropriate weapon! Simple trigger action, easy to load, and no permit required!

The dogs are terrified of it....LOL the squirrels think its just another battle they will win in the end...BUT I have plan B all lined up on toy aisle #3 THE Super Soaker IT squirts a jet of water up to 25 ft....so we'll see who's laughing then!! (insert maniacal laugh here)

  1. Congratulations on your accomplishment. When it comes to the squirrels, you crack me up. Luckily, I don't have any! Last summer, a couple of them decided to take up residence in my walls, but they were 'relocated', too.

    1. I'm Not surprised that squirrels got into your walls! I had to evict an entire family from the porch attic of my project house!! AND then $$$$ to repair the holes they had chewed in the wood!

  3. HA! I have so many childhood memories of my mom standing at the kitchen window with a super soaker to scare off the squirrels and stray cats. I have one of those cap guns somewhere, I should try it on my squirrels too.

    1. It really gives me a feeling of authority to finally have them At least run a few feet away when I get after them!

  4. Love it - serious issue with a kind of semi serious and playful "gonna getcha if its the last thing I do" attitude....

  5. Great little pistol Sondra. Hope it continues to do the trick.

I have a similar problem with the local cats; using my small garden as the local toilet. Very messy.
I got one of those super soakers for those Rambo moments lol

  8. I can't believe those monsters stripped your tomato plants! I like the super soaker idea when the noise stops scaring them.
