November?

Still puttering around here at home.  Nothing to write or to blog about...unless you consider cutting wood and grocery shopping interesting! I don't know what kind of fall we will have they butchered the woods around us while I was gone last spring...so many of the beautiful trees I looked for in fall are GONE laid to waste!
The politics and the overall tension in this country have me on edge I make a new enemy every single day on Social Media...don't even know why I bother!  Who would have thought a group called "Non Consumerism" could become a hot bed of political coals when someone thought it would be nice to post a kid dressed up as Trump for Halloween...wow that didn't go well. What kind of parent would do that to a young kid? So since nothing new on my SD card I'm still trying to expand my YouTube subscribers and creating a photographic journey via my past photo files.  It'a good way to spend an evening in front of the fire...If I ever get a new camera I really want to put some of the things I'm learning into practice including more video.
This one is from way back in 2002 I think, when I was still working as a Medic in NYC.  We had a call that took us over the Brooklyn Bridge.  Back in those days I had and still have a tiny 3 mpg Minolta Digital camera.  It was video capable but had no sound recording...I recently stumbled upon it and remade it..So that's the first video here...It's kind of a hoot as I added sirens which we were using in this run.  The later video was taken with my mobile phone! It's just  a bit of miraculous news.
I hope you will subscribe to my YouTubes if you enjoy them...I have enjoyed putting these together.

PEACE
Every day is a new Adventure.

  1. The first video sadly is funny, just shows how people have no brains and you wonder how they managed to get a license. Added the siren is great. Your second one I remember from your blog. You have a lot of patience I would have smashed that thing on the floor. I just can't seem to figure things out much these days. But your keeping busy and this looks like fun for you.

    1. Hi Jo, this one was nothing...I did this many times per day...we had to be on our toes all the time. I was in the tech seat in this one so I was able to video...but many times I was the driver. It is thrilling when you are not in stopped traffic it's like parting the Red Sea.

  2. Nice videos and good music soundtrack on Brooklyn Bridge film. Its amazing how good those older digital cameras are providing you dont enlarge the frames too much. My first was a 1mpg Fuji and for postcards size prints it was ok, then, but not by today's standards. Videoing has a different set of skills compared to still photography and its good to have them as the results add so much to say a blog post, especially when you get to hear a voice.
Good on you for getting the old PC up and running, patience is a great attribute. I prefer a PC to a laptop and I find it easier to use. All the best.

    1. That little camera still works really well...like you say tho the quality is just not there. I keep it in my car as a back up. I loved that old PC and now being able to go online to post or download photos is wonderful it has 4 times the RAM of the laptop.

  3. Hello, I like the bridge video with the music and siren. I would not like to be a Ambulance driver, it seems like other drivers should move out of the way. I am not a techy and would have to pay someone to fix my computer. Enjoy your day, have a great weekend.

    1. It becomes an everyday thing when it's your job, sometimes we would get what we called a shadow..a car following right behind us matching out speed...when we got those we'd open the back door and then them a Fist UP kind of action meaning back off! IF we had to hit the brakes we'd be rear ended with them right on our bumper.

    1. I know it was pretty lame so I put the kinda "korny" music with it...lol

    2. it was a learning curve for me using video editing software, putting sounds and music where none was overlapping 2 tracks...that is what I accomplished in the old Brooklyn Bridge run. The other was just an ongoing challenge to bring that old PC back online, and I felt good about being able to do that.

  5. Technology has come a long way, hasn’t it? It’s a little over my head now, though. I seldom even boot up my laptop anymore. I never was one to sit with the computer. That you can figure all this out is amazing to me! The only way I can handle trump news anymore is late night tv.

    1. Technology has come a long way I know there are benefits to mankind, but I'd rather see it being geared more toward sustainable living than mind to machine. That's why I have kept my Frankenstein alive, i refuse to learn new technology...lol! My Grandma kept her wood stove in the kitchen right next to her electric one till the day she passed! At least once a week since I was able to power up that old PC I tried to get it to connect online! I set up all the right options in Control Panel, Setting up the Internet Connection etc. but it just kept saying port 80 is closed. Grrr....So I was really stumped..and right out of the blue it dawned on me!! I have not been able to use IE to browse the web for about a long time using WinXP on my laptop I've been using Chrome...and Foxfire. SO it was a sort of DUH moment!
The late night TV Version of Trump is def much easier to handle than the daytime version....Hopefully Tuesday will give us a peek into the future. If it's more doom n gloom...then Canada and Mexico better have their gates open for the refugees from the USA.

  6. I really do need to get earphones for my laptop or for my ipad so I can listen to youtubes. Our new place is bigger than the studio we had downtown, but it is still too small for me to turn on the sound if Bill is working on his other computer (mostly because he is doing that kind of stuff he does so i won't have to, checking the bank statement, paying the bills, ordering the new stuff we need for the new house -- all that boring stuff. But it makes me feel a wee bit guilty to interrupt his train of thought, no matter how interesting the video looks. ( i'd love to see more about your days as an EMT -- but those sirens you said you added probably wouldn't help !)

    1. Hi Sallie, I know what you mean about interrupting someone with noise..it can be alarming..lol. There is not much more to see as I had little time to make videos in this instance I knew I had time for going over the Brooklyn Bridge is always SLOW going no matter how many sirens you blast.
