Sept already?

On Labor Day, I labored! I picked up all this deadwood that Ive been tossing into piles all yr! I love trees, but boy they make a mess! AND there is TONS more to be moved large ones too...but for now Im doing the small stuff I can lift by myself...Even though this is organic matter, its also fire starter, so Im taking it to the dump. I am one of those people who LOVES to go to the dump.  There is always something interesting there...

I am back to painting, do you remember this room? The one with umpteen layers of wallpaper on it? Well my marvelous sister stripped it while she was here. AND not only did she strip the paper she spackled the spots and got the room ready for painting, so this is where IM at today...

I would like to change these sliding doors to bifold doors, the sliding doors dont give as good an access as the bi-folds...Ive had both and prefer the bi-folds.  I saw some second hand ones at The Habitat Store, but they wanted $30?

All's well that ends well!

  2. You deserve that beer! :) Life is good here. We never did start the passport program with the National Parks, but we are watching the Tom Burns documentary on PBS right now. Fascinating!

    1. I really enjoy Burns Documentaries, I like the one about the Dust Bowl too...MY passport is pretty sad, I bought it AFTER I had already visited most of the parks, so I guess I'll have to go again!

  3. So you found a dead teddy bear? How sad. You're moving right along with the house.

  4. Hi Sondra... Aw the good old dump, they where good, you just never new what you would see there lol!!
We now have what they call the Transfer Station!! Most every thing goes down the hole, compacted and taken off to someplace!! Recycled into God know what!!
Hey things look great, and what a nice Sis!!

I have a closet not as big as yours I think, that had those doors like
    yours, and I hated them!!
I removed all the hardware, trimmed down each panel to fit for two panels to swing out at the center, put hinges on the door frame and door!!
Put door magnets at the top to keep the door shut, and it works fine!!
    I know it isn't a bi-fold but it works!!

    Good luck

  5. The "Dead Teddy" tag had me laughing my ass off!! Hilarious... When my brother and I were kids we LOVED when my dad would take us to the dump. We would pick up all kinds of crap and make my mom presents that I'm sure she just loved haha.

  6. I'm busy getting ready for winter too! Dug a few potatoes and have started hauling manure to the garden and working it in. Have some onions drying and carmelized others and froze them for future use. Onions are cheap right now. That Corona looks good ... on a hot day after a lot of work ... hot here too ... I'm working on a beer just not a Corona .

    1. I need to get a load of manure before the race horses start working out again...I'm afraid this DIY house project is consuming all my free time.
